Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your common exterior cleaning questions.

Services & Techniques

How are pressure washing and soft washing different?

This is one of the most common questions we get.

  • Pressure Washing: High-pressure water is used to clean hardscapes such as concrete driveways, walkways, and patios, removing deeply embedded dirt and organic material.
  • Soft Washing: A gentle method that combines low-pressure water with cleaning agents to safely maintain delicate surfaces like roofs, siding, and painted exteriors. We use the appropriate method for each surface to ensure maximum cleaning power with zero damage.

High pressure can strip the protective granules from your asphalt shingles and void your warranty. We use a gentle roof cleaning safety protocol (Softwash) that kills moss and algae at the root without damaging the roof materials.

Appointments & Logistics

Do I need to be home during the service?

No, you do not need to be home as long as we have access to the areas we are cleaning and a working water spigot. We will communicate with you before we arrive and after the job is finished.

Safety & Maintenance

Are the cleaning solutions products you use pet- and plant-friendly?

Yes. We take great care to rinse surrounding vegetation before, during, and after the cleaning process. We use biodegradable solutions that are tough on grime but safe for your landscape and pets when used by professionals.

In the Pacific Northwest, we recommend professional gutter cleaning at least twice a year (typically late spring and late fall) to prevent clogs and water damage. If you have many pine or fir trees nearby, you may need more frequent service.

Most homes in our area benefit from a house wash every 12 to 24 months to prevent the buildup of green algae and mold.
